| 29 Apr 2004 | Aimee L. Smith | I am enjoying your gallery, and think your handling of paint, light and colour here is quite amazing.Thank you! Glad to hear you liked it. | |
| 15 May 2004 | Dollorion | Finally some one who has made a beautiful picture of varda and manwe the throwns are stunning! Thanks! Although, I'm aware of other pictures of this, drawn with much better skill as well. | |
| 26 May 2004 | Ben L. Peery | You get any more awesome like this and your gonna give me a heart attack r somethin, this is so awesome. Orb things on Manew's throne = awesome. I have no desire to give anyone a heart-attack. The orbs did come out rather well, but I'm sure if you look closer at the picture you'll be able to see it's many imperfections (and not have a heart attack). | |
| 27 May 2004 | Suenote | This is OUTSTANDING the colours you use are eneffable..in other words I can't describe how shockingly beautiful this painting is...you are quite a talented artist indeed!!!Eh, the colours and the background are probably the only things that turned out really well in this picture. It's amazing how often using bright colours can cover up (or distract from) the imperfections in the actual drawing. Anyway, thank you for your kind comment. ^_^ | |
| 8 Oct 2005 | Carmandil | This is simply amazing, and well deserving the mod's choice it got. It reminds me partly of a stained-glass window, partly of a tapestry of medieval times. As in those genres, it is not meant to be exact, but an idealization of royalty, of the two greatest of the Valar. And even the Eagle on Manwe's hand denotes nobility, the very spirit of Thorondor, the great sire of the Eagles. I'm glad I stumbled across this picture. I am simply awestruck. Natalia Nikitin replies: "Thank you very much indeed! " | |
| 10 Aug 2007 | Vilhelmina Ullemar Lönnbom | This really deserves the mod's choice it has received! It's beautiful! It'd make an excellent illustration for a book cover or simply in a story-book version of some of Tolkien's writing. Natalia Nikitin replies: " Thank you, though I'm not all that convinced it's up to the quality to go on the cover of a book. " | |
| 7 Dec 2007 | Joelle Duran | Just great to see them depicted together. I like the differences in the shapes and colors of their thrones. Nice work! Natalia Nikitin replies: "Thank you!" | |
| 14 Mar 2008 | Natalie Adams | oh wow......a very well deserved Mod, i think...in fact, i KNOW... as soon as i have stopped typing this worshipful comment, i am going to mark this as a favourite...it is so good... i also love the flames above their heads...almost Biblical! Natalia Nikitin replies: "Yes, the Valar are a bit like angels. In fact if you read both Tolkien’s and C.S. Lewis’s books closely you will see that they made a parallel between great angels and ’gods’ in a rather interesting way. Tolkien in the Silmarillion, Lewis more directly in ’That Hideous Strength’ and the rest of his sci-fi trilogy. " | |
| 14 Jul 2008 | Narindel | perfection, I love it Natalia Nikitin replies: "Perhaps not quite, but I’m glad you like it enough to say this. : )" | |
| 14 Oct 2008 | Heidi Hecht | Pretty cool. Manwe looks like he’s doing a sorta-sarcastic "duh"-thing, though. Nice job otherwise. | |
