SciFi and Fantasy Art: Shadows in the Dark

...nervously the guardswoman traipsed down the narrow stairs to the catacombs of the castle. She had been with the mages for all of her conscious life but this one - the albino - still gave her the creeps. Although she had taken care to come announced the fine down on her neck stood on end when she turned the last curved steps and entered Falaena's sanctum. The mage had been reading in an ancient tome - as usual - and her murky red gaze turned in her direction. The mercenary swallowed when she felt the shadowns in the vaults draw closer... A picture inspired by the Ars Magica background...
