SciFi and Fantasy Art: Rite of Fire

It's not easy being a priestess, as young Qi (pronounced like 'key') here is finding out! The image of a vaguely Aztec/Mayan style ceremony is one that really resonates with me, and one that I draw a lot, though without some of the gorier aspects. But despite the subject, I did push myself a lot in this picture; the detail, especially in the costume and background (Woohoo, a background that's *not* a horizon line with little mountains and clouds!) is something I'm usually too lazy to finish. And speaking of finishing...should I shade, ink or colour? Hmmm...the decisions are neverending!

10 Jun 2004	Rosanna E. Hans	Loading... Ooh, I really like this one. So cute. Isn't Qi pronounced "chi" though? As in, life force? I think this would look great inked, as long as you don't overdo it on the detailed bits. I'm terrible when it comes to things like that, I always put too much weight where it isn't wanted.
