Lauren Wiseblade was just trying to make his way in the world; namely, kicking butt, and avoiding having his butt kicked. Yes, he knows it's a girl's name. And yes, he would NOT like you to point that out. Follow Lauren's hilarious adventures with the enchanter Jared Starfist and the Takma Hurdill Mimsy, and how a certain Box caused the creation of a mountain. This chapter shows Jared's unusual entrance into the bar of the Gambling Gnome, Lauren's decision to take up the job and the resulting humiliation of trying to look tough. Note: You might want to read A Brief History of Altomia first before you read any of the Tales of Altomia. You don't have to, and it's usually more fun to find out about this strange world I have devised through the actual stories that the history, but, well, MEH. Also, constructive criticism would be just smashing, guys. Once again, a cookie for Shanra for her very helpful advice.
Of course not so surreal can be strange too, especially as power grows.

A young fay with no wings, a wish box, a Faery queen... what will come of it?
Cycle of Life:Prologue Armoured knights trampled the village green to mud. To those caught in their path, they appeared to be bizarre monsters, their humanity hidden beneath hard, chitinous shells; razor-sharp swords gilded red in the most precious of substances - life’s blood. All around, the air was thick with despair as the wounded reached out to one another with open hearts. The dead pretended to ignore their fate. Some lay with their ears pressed to the ground, as if listening to the slow heartbeat of the earth. Others directed their eyes upwards, watching cinders trace a lazy arc through temperate skies.A shrill cry cut through the clamour of battle as an Arch-Mage, dressed in bright ceremonial robes, gave a renewed call to arms. The animalistic scream took to the air: a symbiotic blood-cry fashioned from a living soul, savagely pried loose from its corporeal holdings. The invaders moved in a grim dance as they engaged the unarmed villagers in combat. Each wore a filthy white surcoat emblazoned with the twin signets of faith. The ancient symbol, which comprised of two interlocking rings enclosing a stylistic pattern, represented the link between heart and mind. Some of the village elders recognized it for what it truly was: a powerful sigil designed to unify the men in single-minded combat. Such tactics rendered them unstoppable, as it was easier to control men through magic than the archaic bonds of brotherhood and loyalty. The invaders marched towards their defenceless foes; gazes filled with righteous indignation; cold hearts ablaze with lust for battle.Death it seemed possessed its own voice. Its horror rent the still morning air. Everywhere, horror overlaid beauty - a grotesque juxtaposition of life and death. Then, the wheels of time unfurled a new day - a day as bright as the blood spilled freely beneath it.As one, the army came to a complete halt. The soulless invaders coldly perused the battlefield. Bloodied and battered helms concealed deadpan faces and unseeing eyes. As a new and monstrous future was ready to be born,
This is something I started writing - it is a beginning and currently has no end, but please tell me what you think so that I can decide whether this can go anywhere or not!

And yes, he would NOT like you to point that out. Follow Lauren's hilarious adventures with the enchanter Jared Starfist and the Takma Hurdill Mimsy, and how a certain Box caused the creation of a mountain. This chapter introduces the character of the rather obnoxious Hurdill Mimsy and some more humiliation for Lauren, because I'm that nasty. Note: You might want to read A Brief History of Altomia first before you read any of the Tales of Altomia. Ok this is something i did a while in school. I took my time in writing it because there was no need for it in Lit. class. I was holding it for an essay topic.
Second chapter, which could be titled something like 'In Which Shawn Finds Stuff'. But, I hate titling chapters, so it's just Chapter 2. Enjoy, and HAND! (August 2006 revision: I made it a bad length. It's too long for one chapter, and too short for two. How's the stuff I changed?)
A little more serious story i've been working with for the past month, this was inspired by hours of boredom. I'm currently working on the second chapter: Meeting. It's definately a work in progress and i plan to go over the entire story and change alot of things when i'm finished writing it, but for now, i've just got to get it all written down and sorted out first. This version of the story will definately change, it's still in the preliminary writing stages. This chapter of the story doesn't really have any fantasy elements in it, but it's only the first chapter and nothing really interesting has happened yet. you can look forwards to mages, assassins, prospectors, witches, queen's and a whole cast full of other characters in the chapters to follow.
A Poem I wrote for teaching a class of 11 year olds a poetry lesson. They each wrote their own poems and I took a copy of each. They are so cute.
I don't really know what I was thinking when I statred this, and still don't know exactly where its going. But rest assured it is going somewhere.
'For lo, we shall rise up, And then we shalt maketh the bugger's eyes water...'
A greedy, imprudent man deals with the unknown. This tidbit is the result of a challenge I gave myself to write a complete story in the fewest words possible. I may end up incorporating this into a larger piece, but I like it as a stand-alone. Flash fantasy, anyone? *wink*
Jane and Paul, as a result of a twisted Government experiment, have stumbled on a Pandora's Box of sorts.
Yeah, it might remind you of Maximum Ride, but it's truly all from my imagination! I always have loved people that are part animal or whatever, and this is where my story went. I entered this into a story contest at my library. I didn't win, but someone I know did (His was really funny!!)
part two of the story.. had to cut it in half so it wouldn't be so long. read on..
