Oh what a disaster this giant makes in the little fairy village

The Sun Still Shone

Michelle Hart

This story actually made it into my school magazine. I thought of the last paragraph first, and then wrote the story around it.

Incomplete Poetry

Elizabeth Fitzgerald

Just a couple of stanzas that popped out while I was questioning life. Obviously neither are finished. The first asks whether our own world is any less magical than the world of fantasy. The second questions why we allow hopelessness and apathy to descend over us in the face of disaster.

Jenny Rowland

Oh, this is a fun one... Years ago now, a friend of mine invented a race of aliens and used them to annoy my brother in an AIM conversation. I proceeded to take this extremely silly concept and write a serious story fragment around it -- then I lost it for about three years. This, then, is the story, found, typed up, and edited a bit. I'm actually surprised at how decent it is considering its age. I thought about changing the names -- if you click the link above or take a good look at the names below, you might notice something strange about them -- but in the end decided to leave them. Maybe later I'll change them, but for now I just can't see the names of people and places as being anything but what's below.

Chapter 7 (Odd Pair)

Joanna Wu

A brief encounter with a strange pair that tells of a distant war. Will it effect their journey?

Chapter 6: The Song of Blood and Names

Henrik Lerdahl

The Grand Finale, the Great Climax: After the terrible disaster has struck, and all his plans have shown their ultimate consequences, Murkha makes a final gambit to save himself, his world and his companion. But will the desperate plans of a single over-proud magician be enough to stop the incarnation of the Nameless? And even worse: What will happen if he should succeed? EDIT: I have been informed that the small line included in a magical formula needs to be translated. It's in Sylvan (self-made lingo), and reads roughly like this: 'We give pattern to they who have no pattern. I dance sorcery on them and upon their life' More or less. For more info on Sylvan, don't hesitate to ask.

Whole Again

Athene Grele

I was inspired while reading something my cousin wrote, Daydreams of Silver, which was about a unicorn. I'm not sure I'm happy with the result... But it's short and it was easy to put into a format Elfwood would accept(e.g., html), so that at least makes me happy. Tell me what you think! Edit: This, for some reason, seems to be the most popular of all my stories. Which is strange, because it was meant merely to be an excercise in descriptive writing. I guess it must have worked, because I've been told that the non-descriptive part (where the elfy dude shows up) is the weakest part of the story. Hmmmm.....

Elsiana chapters 5-6

Monique Anleu

This is the third installation of my Elsiana book (yet again I'd like to know if anyone has any names, leave them on my comments and I will take them into consideration) and therefore the fifth  and sixth chapters. The previous chapters weren't that good since they were written a little over a year ago versus these that are far more recent, so I thank you for bearing with me through the torture that was me setting the book up when I was twelve and experimenting. There's a little more romance and action now and I had some fun with emotions and different points of veiw. I would also like to address the fact that a few of my friends thought that these were diary entries and I'd just like to say that they aren't and I only include the date for the sake of not confusing anyone (or trying not to). Enjoy

Natural Disaster -- 01

Brie O´Reilly

This one certainly didn't want to be written, but here it is.  Constructive criticism welcome.   Enjoy. **Note to my fellow moderaters** Although this particular chapter doesn't include obvious fantasy/sci-fi elements, the prologue (already published in my library) does.  Thanks!
