The Unicorn's Egg

Annie Harrington

I don't exactly know where this one spawned from, except that I first thought of this (very randomly) while some of my friends were talking about a certain Australian crocodile hunter who seems to love wrestling and poking potentially dangerous and sometimes venemous reptiles (though that has nothing to do with this particular story). Enjoy!

Take Off and Fly

Alix Westgard

I started writing this back in grade 12 (2000-2001) and found it again and finished it last year (2001-2002). That's why it's almost got two different styles... but I think it works? meh...

The Egg

This was a narrative paragraph written for ENG101. At some point, I'll probably use this in a longer story as well.

Dawn Comes Early

Andrea Smith

'Dawn Comes Early' is a short story that's a 'prequel' for my longer novel-in-progress, Prophecy of Seven Notes, and it takes place six years before the beginning of Prophecy. :) Enjoy!

Nina and the Baby Dragon

Rebecca Rumble

This was written for the Icefire compertition in 'Young Writer'. It didn't win but I kinda liked the story so I thought I would post it up here and see what other people thought.

Egg of Wood

Peter Blair

A little while back I was stuck up at night, and this forced its way into my thoughts. This offers a touch of what I grew up with, having Danish family traditions. I ran this one by my Mor (mother), and she seemed all right with it, so I suppose I haven't trampled any Danish traditions underfoot. A few translation notes: Oldemor = Great grandmother Hej = ... no, I'm not going to tell you. Shouldn't be that hard to figure out... Nisse/Nisser - Does not translate. Think of them (the former is singular, the latter plural) as elves the size of cats. Somewhat of a benevolent but sometimes mischevious magical creature. I've only ever seen them in red, but I only ever see them at Christmas time. I think they have other clothes too ^_^. Google the word, you'll see 'em! EDIT: Newer version. This is the one I sent over to my mormor in Denmark. Special thanks to all those who offered me constructive crits and nits, she approved!

Humpty Dumpty's Tale

Meg Rachor

Well, I had a random idea...what if Humpty Dumpty didn't just fall...A really sad failed attempt at humor on my part ^_^

Creatures of life and death

Josephine Rosén

A short (yes) text (supposedly) written by a biologist while following a very, very interesting creature...

History Hour - Forla Nest

Jodie Biggs

I am working on the concept for a new world and longer work. I've used the teaching History Hour within the world of Talsla to develop my own ideas of what this world is like and about.

The Wish (Part 2 of 5)
