This story takes a look at the impact of the next stage of human evolution on those left behind (and before you ask, this has nothing to do with the X-Men!!!)
A great plague visited the Earth long before recorded history, wiping out many genetic traits. Slowly these genes have been re-awakening with man's evolution. (Maybe our scribbles hold more truth than we know....)
A quick little one-pager that sort of gives you an idea why Orthanc's lived so long...
Warning: This product is not recommended for those allergic to randomness. Read at your own risk! I wrote this a while ago for a creative writing assignment. I was rather doubtful as to the advisability of putting it up here, but then I thought, what the heck. So here it is. It was inspired by African folk tales, and is written in the style of Kipling's Just So Stories. Side note: Evolutionary theory has it that manatees used to live on land.
The crew discovers they are definitely not alone in this solar system, light years from home.
The Purple Alien World as of yet has no name. I know, it's ridiculous, but until I come up with a name for it, I'll keep referring to it as PAW. Well, here's the history of the PAW; backstory which (I hope) explains Xanthippe's people's reasons for their decision. Like the others, it might be a little inaccurate with the dates, but, who cares?
A pseudo-scientific-study about the evolution of tongue rolling in Homo sapiens populations. It sprang from a homework assignment about useless traits. It's a bit sci-fi in it's subject and mention of genetics, but I consider it mostly humor. Well, humor for a poor lil' bio major, at least...
In the year 2175, evolution of man and machine became as one when a perfect cell was created, generating a new breed of humans that had the ability to fuse with metal. This had surpassed any know cybernetic or genetic application of their time. They were thought to be the ultimate warriors, and the last great hope in Mar Colonies' bitter struggle to gain independence from Earth. But before they could be able to make a difference, they were betrayed by the company that created them. In fearing of what these warriors were capable of, the Earth's government ordered that all of these warriors to be destroy. Only a small numbers of them were never found. Sealed stored in cryogenics tubes, they remained a sleep, only to be forgotten about. For Sara Jessica Bennett this had become her reality until she awaked after a hundred years of slumber and found out that the world that she once knew was gone. Caught up in a new struggle for Mars independent, she discovered that wasn’t alone. More like her self were still sleeping on Mars. Allied with a local cop Anna Matrix, whose past was even a mystery to herself, had special link with Sara which they shared the same fate. It is up to them to find there sleeping comrades before the Earth's government or the company that created them gets to them first. Evolution of mankind is about to get a wakeup call. Only question that you have to ask yourself is, are you ready for the Evolution. Welcome to living metal welcome to the Machine.
I got the idea for this story after researching Mesohippus and Miohippus, progenitors of the modern horse. It has actually been found that Miohippus did not evolve from Mesohippus, but they existed at the same time. Yes, I have used the name Sinai before and probably will again, I am a name recycler.
Shorter gap between stories this time *grin*. The continued evolution of the Samalander lizard. I hope to have chapter 4 up sometime soon. Hopefully my fan enjoys these stories ( know I have at least one out there.... ;)
What would you do if you were able to control metal at any form? Able to control it like it was apart of your own body. In the year 2175 on Mars, scientists were able to take evolution out of nature's control into the hands of science as they created the perfect fusion of man and metal. Not separate, but as a new form of humanity. This new form of existence, man kind wasn't ready for. For this had carried a heavy toll upon finish product which was abandon and forgotten about. This science was lost until the turn of the next century when the remaining products of this forgotten science began to awake from their long slumber and for Sara Jessica Bennett, this has became her reality as she was the first to have awakened. The only question you’ll have to ask your self is, are you ready for the evolution? Welcome to Living Metal. Welcome to the machine.
After much grappling with my muse, near-suicidal depression and frustration, a couple tons of Chinese food and a 'you finish this no matter what' deadline set by a merciful friend, here it is at last...chapter two, and I *still* hate it with a passion. Anyway, without much moping, I'll see everyone's reaction and then definitely revise. Going with what is apparently my writing forte (writing page after page with nothing substantial) not much actually happens here: After the events of the last chapter, the biology class leaves the museum, and things seemingly return to normal - but the mermaid in the basement is not willing to let go yet, especially not of Daniel, as he will soon find out. There are nice moments and familiars to hold onto, though. This story, by now, is dedicated to all people who, knowingly and unknowingly, have contributed to it with ideas, inspirational impulses, nudges in the right direction, head-washes, or simply by existing and providing inspiration in itself. Enough of the gushing. Enjoy!
Old storyA very short story based on a dream I had. It's surreal and not intended to make much sense. (One and a Half pages)
A prequel to Origin. I recommend you read the main story first.
The reasons behind their Intergalactic Conquering Campaign, muahahaha!
The crew learns the hard way that it was probably better just to let things be.
