The the first installment to the epic of Shattered Earth. A sovereign people's struggle against a tyrannical, imperialist power.
At the end of a war of the world, two sisters try to resolve differences to their own benefit.
Another of my one-word titles. This one isn't one of my favorite, but it's alright. Again, any advice would be great.
This is the first part of Nichole Blanchard's story: who she is, who she becomes, the people she meets, and everything else that happens to her in a short month. The main character is named after one of my best friends.
i am fascinated by people who lead ordinary lives, day after day, until something happens and they become extraordinary...
'The truth of the matter is that you always know the right thing to do. The hard part is doing it.' -- Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf
The rhymes are broken, I know, I'll remedy that when I'm granted time. This is based on the song, schism by third eye open. Every sword motion, thought, emotion, etc. was illustrated in the music, so I decided to write it down. Once in the middle, and then at the end, there is a gradual, decending type sound that I imagined was the blade of the guillotine falling. I wouldn't understand this if not for the story in my head, so if you dont want me to ruin it for you, stop reading. The story begins with this couple in love, I guess they were in the queen's bed, her husband finds them, and since he's royal (crown - crown of thorns to show his cruelty) her betrayal is treason. Like King Arthur and Guenevere, except Guenevere deserved it. Anyway, the narrator (the man she was in love with) escapes, because he can do little else - stay and die - or leave and try to save her. So he does, and it's the hardest thing to watch the king sentence her to death and stay quiet. He watches in the crown as she dies (first descending sound), and is powerless to do much else. Well, he goes crazy, starts killing everyone in sight.(honestly, the song is perfect for this) I remember the music went well when he would fall a few times, or someone's sword would slash his face or something but I couldn't add it in this miserable poem. They catch him, finally, decide to kill him on the guillotine too. (why not, its right there) He feels a drop of her blood in his shoulder before he is killed. I didn't add this in the poem (I can't find an eloquent way to say it) but the very end was both their heads in a basket. (heh im sick) I guess the point was that they were together in life and death. I tried to make a visual point to their....'togetherness' so I made it her hair wrapping around his fingers or something, so it happens in the beginning, and at the end, her hair wraps around his lips.
What is it about goats that allows them to show up in strange stories? Must be the beard. I have no idea where this came from, as I was working on a report on tuberculosis the day I started, but I'm extremely fond of it. Any and ALL suggestions on improvement are GREATLY encouraged!
In an Alternate Reality in the Desert of French occupied Algeria, Mission DuLac is the last of her kind. She is a Werewolf. Her endite family was murdered one night when a Hunter them. Her father had been a colonel in the Foreign Legion and she is cared for by the legionaires until a mysterious man comes and offers to bring Mission to live with him. Some of the dates are still off, I'm still doing research on the proper time periods. I hope all of the translations are correct. If I missed any please let me know and I'll edit them as soon as possible.

Mission's grown up and Blaise can no longer care for her as he once has. Without a Werewolf to train her she has become violent and unable to control her tempers at times. Her love for Blaise and Matilda causes her to act out against anyone who she deems a threat. Blaise knows it is time to give her to her true guardian. He only hopes it isn't too soon.
A story written as an assignment for a writing list. It was required to have moon, moonlight or lunar as a major plot twist, and using Sword and Gem/Gemstone was an extra bonus. I think I accomplished it quite well.
A planet of people pulled abruptly from their respective times must unite. Or: a modern youth, a Roman, a colonial American, a Soviet, a theologian, a Nazi, a scientist, and a Victorian girl discover the nature of warfare.
'Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does.' --Sartre
This is in dire need of a title, so if you have one, please comment and tell me! For anyone who read this before the 24th July 2004, this is in actual fact, The Darren Story, it's just that the Darren I know in real life is an idiot, so I gave my character a new name!
I finished this late at night (for me) so I hope the ending lives up to the rest, you get a little more of an insight to the extent of Wolfe's power here, and a glimpse of the more violent and cheeky side of his charactor. For your next installment, we introduce a new main charactor to the story, which also lets me deal with a few teen issues as well as give you a good read. As for the charactors name, see Chptr1 bio for the change reason.
