The traveler faces a disturbing creature, and the darker side of people.
Welcome to Heart's Song, a story of Love's tricks and wiles. Often a blessing, sometimes a curse... The conclusion to it all. If you have not read the first three chapters, I strongly urge you to do so. The other three chapters are, in total, shorter than this one, so you wouldn't be spending too much time on me!. areth'yncain'are-AY-eth-EEN-kin( note:that sounds like kind minus a d')--dragon (very rough translation) tramecain--'trah-MAY-kin'--normal human (rough translation) hyrex'yncain--'hee-rex-EEN-kin'--half-dragon (rough translation) musc'areth--moosk-are-eth'--male dragon(the word areth has the long 'ay' sound in the middle only when in front of cain.)
'Our rivalry is only camaraderie.' Delve into the minds and thoughts of the creatures who wander so freely in the night; the ones who you were taught to fear as a child. Perhaps they are not what you were taught.
The vampires and werewolves become better acquianted. What exactly happened between the two rivals? Will the implications of their choices cause further rifts or bring the two closer together?
This is pretty old, but it was always my mother's favorite... and it is also the one that got me my Talent Scholarship to Whittier.
More character development, just trying to add more to griffin as a whole, though his power is veiled. I need to play with Griffin some more to find the right mix of knowledge and secrecy.
I wrote this my sophomore year and took it to a Literary festival where they published it in 'The Alphabet and Then..' I can't remember what volume it was, they wrote it in Roman Numerals and I think there were two X's, my mother has it now :)
In this chapter, we find Mark and Gary getting to know one another, and delving into the history of Mark's 'condition.' It's almost entirely dialogue, which for some reason I find harder to write (which is probably why it took so long).
This is an unfinished prologue to the comic strip or anime video, still unsure of what I'm going to do with it and what the title is going to be and still in production of it. Most likely going to be a comic strip. It's about AI attempting to exterminate humans on Earth and the humans escape to the moon to rebuild civilization. Some of the humans get left behind and build underground civilizations based upon old magical beliefs, some humans are mutated by a virus released by the AI, some humans escape to the moon and rely on technological advances to survive all the while encountering new alien races.
Those of you who read The First Lesson might be in for a little bit of a surprise, as this one took a completely different tone from it. I still recommend reading the prequel before this one, as it gives a lot of background. To be brief, this piece takes place a few years after The First Lesson, and is told from the viewpoint of Kyrre as she comes of age. Things are about to change for her, and we're not just talking about her age.
Welcome to Heart's Song, a story of Love's tricks and wiles. Often a blessing, sometimes a curse... This is the third chapter to the story. If you have not read the first two, I strongly urge you to do so.
The conclusion of p.1. More to come about James and Claire in a new story as soon as i finish it.
You should probably read 'Of Wolf and Man' before reading this.
I have recently updated / edited / and fleshed out this story and successfully sold it to Scourge (a dark fiction lit journal). At this point i have no idea when it will be put into print, I will be sure to let those of you who are interested know. I have kept the rights to keep this draft here.
This story was inspired by watching my then one-year-old playing at the library. It was given to various family members as a christmas present, and was well recieved. The characters involved, mainly the married couple, are characters from my others works in the Ecadian Chronicles series, published through Publish America (regrettably). There are some known issues. I use the term Romans. They look and act like earth Romans. This is because I am borrowing the opinion of some channelers that most Earth culture, especially caucasian culture, originated elsewhere in the galaxy, and many different planets have similar traits. Whether or not I actually believe this, I thought it was really interesting. Secondly, I know the halfling's accent is nearly indeciferable. My husband has the same problem. I refer you to Mark Twain, and many of his novels with southern characters, and to Terry Pratchett's Wee Free Men. Just deal with it or stop reading.
To disperse the lore that has existed for so long is difficult. Are creatures of the night all that we have been taught?
Let me explain tabletop roleplaying: Dungeons & Dragons. However, we didn't play D&D exactly, we played Rolemaster, which is much better. ^_^ This particular world was created by my boyfriend - it's part of a video game he's been designing for a very long time. Catkin are part humanoid, part cat. This translates to having cat ears (and hearing!), a tail, and sometimes a cat-like nose. They are usually tall and agile with excellent balance, which makes them natural martial arts fighters. Because they are highly attuned with nature and religious faiths, their favored classes are usually priests & monks. Catkin lack technology, and because of their isolation from the rest of the world can be fairly naive. The goal, when we started this run, was to know (and possibly write down) the background of our character so we knew how they arrived at the 'beginning' - the starting point of the run.
This is the prologue of the high-fantasy story 'Wild Magic'. *** For a description of the world in which the story is set, you can read 'Wild Magic - Prelude'. *** “Wild Magic” is a co-authored project by me and Rick Samual (who is not an EW member). I have his permission to post this story to my EW library. *** In this short prologue you will get a glimpse of the worries that trouble the Wysards and the Petari of Damarre. Future chapters will be more voluminous.
With new power and a new found ally, Kane and his squad return to the village of Tiln, intent on completing their mission. But is their a greater threat looming?
