The Message of the Survivor

Rochelle Watts

A poor wounded goblin. There is bit of the idea of a Greek messenger and a bit of the idea of natives being pushed off their lands in this poem. I tried to match the meter with the staggering pace of the goblin. It still needs a little tinkering but I'm happy with it for now.

The Morning It Came To Be

Rochelle Watts

I had a thought that seeing the future would be a difficult talent to live with, because how would you know when the events you saw were going to happen? So all that waiting would be hard on one's mind. Even more so if you were a female in a society that didn't allow for females to do much in...

Completely Incomplete Chapter II: Strange Starts

Katherine Belt

A young man, an exchange student, a clashing of lies, realities, and life that will never forfeit chaos until the last piece falls into place. The world is turned upside-down when the elements are destroyed, causing all of humanity to lose their human sides of things, reflecting the creatures they truly are. Funny, Suspenseful, and Touching, what other combination could you get when you combine a psychic angel, a cat, a demon, a vampire, and two people who are strangely immune to humanity's curse? This is, Completely Incomplete

Fate of Dragons: Chapter Three: The Comings of Night

Tina Huynh

Nightmares haunt the young messenger from Doven, the apprentices of the Tower fight amoungst themselves, and the fenrir's dark past. Third addition to my story~ Hope you enjoy it =x

Dragon Chapter Two

Al DiBianco

Still in progress... UPDATE 11/14/03: This chapter now finished!

Prince Autrivous

M. Mockeridge

I wrote this for my Hero Myth English assignment. My teacher had a four page limit. This is five. I tell you this to tell you that if I had had my way this would be forty pages long. It would also have involved much more of the romantic bit, since I originally created this (and why should I have created a completely new idea for a story when I had an old one in store) it was just a love story. Not so much anymore. Also, concerning the names: Created at two o’clock in the morning in my dorm room with terrible tasting coffee and dear, dear Riss.

Destiny and Redemption - Guilt

Piksi Teamer

This is the first in the Destiny and Redemption 'series'. A little tale about twists of fate.

Runner

Cheryl Scott

This came about that same weekend as "Monsters R People 2" and is a radically different story.  Marian Zimmer Bradley rejected it outta' hand 'cuz it's told in present tense.  I kinda' figured the subject matter warranted that choice: the main character being a foot messenger by trade, she lives in the moment.  But anyway...  There are glimpses here of what became my style...  and plenty of influence from my literature studies at the time...

Diablo Daimon Angelos Chapter 2

Natasha Wickland

The Darkling is returned to his new home.

Completely Incomplete: Chapter III

Katherine Belt

A young man, an exchange student, a clashing of lies, realities, and life that will never forfeit chaos until the last piece falls into place. Completely Incomplete: Chapter IV

A Bringer of Tidings

Andrew Bartlett

A Meeting

Alice Raven

Chapter One of the as-yet unnamed story, involving Barthel, one of my favorite characters to write for. I've strayed a little from my previous style, it's matured a bit. I hope you enjoy!

Don't Slay the Messenger

Emily Hofmeister

A tale of a very unlucky messenger boy.

Sands of Anu (2004)

Sarah Bellian

Take some Arabic and Sumerian mythology and set the story in a desert world where it only rains once every two-hundred years. Throw in quicksand, chimeras, a secret society of medusa-like assassins, a flying carpet with a personality disorder and a few gypsies with pyrokinesis. Dump in a normal kid who arrives on his mountain bike via dust-devil and you've got my newest... endeavor. Here's chapter one with a bit of prolouge. Comments always appreciated.

Completely Incomplete Chapter I: Enigmatic Exchange

Katherine Belt

A young man, an exchange student, a clashing of lies, realities, and life that will never forfeit chaos until the last piece falls into place. The world is turned upside-down when the elements are destroyed, causing all of humanity to lose their human sides of things, reflecting the creatures they truly are. Funny, Suspenseful, and Touching, what other combination could you get when you combine a psychic angel, a cat, a demon, a vampire, and two people who are strangely immune to humanity's curse? An Elven Shade

Laura Hildebrand

I wrote this when I couldn't sleep on the night before Thanksgiving and the night before that. I took about an hour both nights, and this copy is basically unchanged from the first draft. The inspiration came when I was driving home from New Jersey (from a concert my parents had played, nd they dragged me along and told me to do at least four pieces with them. It's a good thing they were short. I didn't even get paid!) and I started a little doodle of an elf hunched over a sword, the hood of his cape covering his face so you can't see he's crying. An elf-girl's ghost was holding his arms, trying to wipe the blood from a recent battle off them, also trying to figure out why the blood didn't move. She didn't know she was dead then. I had the middle of the story planned out, but then, being me, I completely changed it around so instead of the girl not knowing she was dead, the guy didn't know the girl was there. Then, of course, I had to add more and more onto it so that it's completely unrecognizable from the first idea.

The Messenger (Just A Taste)

Michael Jones

This is a short piece from my novel The Messenger. Now that the story is soon to be published I've taken down all the previous chapters and replaced it with this little bit. When the time comes I'll post a link to an online bookstore where you can purchase my book worldwide! :) Enjoy!

Imbriuim Chronicles: Chapter 01- Watchers of the Night

Jenna Shaak

The eve before the Equinox, a strange intruder is found trespassing through the borders of the Guardian Woods. Also, a few little things: the pronuncation for the gryphon's names are Shai (simply 'Shy') and Fai (F-aye). Thanks and enjoy!
