the fifth chapter - about time, too! this is quite a short chapter, so gets a short description - only 2 narrators this time. the talgad make a grim discovery as they pass by daria (couple days away from naencorran), and morgan makes an... interesting acquaintance...
the sixth chapter, probably one of the worst so far. an inevitable lapse into pure cheesiness can be experienced here... but you have my word, i will make up for it later. may even rewrite this chapter to some extent; i haven't touched it for a while and there's a lot i'm not happy with. anyway, it's divided into two narrations - that of sianrel and that of morgan. and this is where their paths inevitably cross for the first time...
a return to double-narratorness, at least for a while. this chapter is really more there to use up space than anything, and i struggled over what to include in it for a while. still, i'm fairly pleased with some of the writing here. morgan and malynn watch the men training, and for the first time a bit of the story is told from malynn's perspective. her character needs more development.
Chapter 2 is a whole different section then the first chapter. This one is about a girl named Morgan..and I don't want to spoil the rest..
Still more from this rather lengthy story. My main problem seems to be that I can't kick them back to their own time and be done with it. At this rate, they'll be there until everyone dies (another 20 years) at least. February 8, 2003: Just updated this. It's been a while, I know, but my computer deleted about 10 pages of this story a couple of months ago and I've had no time to redo it. It's slowly coming back together now, though. Appologies to those I've kept waiting.
yay! at long, long, long, LONG last, here's the first bit of book 2. a nice tasty 14 pages in word, in three parts (of sorts) - sianrel, morgan, and sianrel again. as the talgad finally embark on their quest to rhaonan, with the threat of winter as well the raethgeva breathing down their necks, there is tension and drama afoot... IMPORTANT NOTE THINGY THAT YOU REALLY SHOULD READ: because of the similarities between 'maencorran' (the southern shire that dunmorsvelle's in) and 'naencorran' (the town the talgad have been staying in), i changed the latter to 'naulcorran'. hopefully i'll update the other chapters soon to reflect this 0:)
the first chapter of the first book of ravenspeed, set 16 years after the windstorm (which should be read first if you want to make any sense of this). this introduces one of the main characters, morgan (original name, eh? :P), and features some nasty icky bloody stuff. and a chap called matthew, being a bastard. i'm rather proud of some of the description in it, although i admit the dialogue might seem a bit stiff in places...
My most symbol laden work so far. It is the story of Hecules's death and of an incident regarding a flaming (literaly) cloak. here is a list of the meanings of most of the symbols. Second regret of hydra’s hate: Hecules wet his arrows in the Hydra’s blood and was told he would twice regret it. Styx’s edge: edge of death Apollo kills kin: he is half brother to Apollo (Zeus’s side) A bird, once silver, now black. A crow Bear’s: Arthur means literally Uther’s Bear (arth uther) Lady Luck / One-who-is-nine: References to the names of The lady of the lake Vivian being the Lady luck and Nimue meaning nine and referring to the muses. Fate: Morgan is an avatar of fate Adder: the maiden was treacherous like an adder Dragon: Arthur is also the chief dragon (pendragon)
Danny gets a surprise when he follows a girl from a rennaissance fair...
The behind-the-scene of my novel Nightstalkers.
A grandmother's inheritance turns out to be much more in the realm of Tamant: Chapter 3.
Chapters three and four of 'Morgana'. I'd really like to give it a better name, but I can't think of one. Even just adding something would help, so the title didn't look so much like 'Margret' (other story). It looks like this storie's going to have about 14 chapters, give or take, but it's hard to say. At the time I'm posting this I've got up to chapter 11 and it's not finished yet. But I hope it doesn't run on for more than 20, because then, I think, it would get a bit boring.
Kinda inspired by 'Kid in King Arthur's Court' and similar stories. I'm writing it fairly quickly, but it could be a while before I type the rest up.
A romantic fantasy, with a slight air of mystery. It's not too long, and if you stick with me to the end I promise everything WILL be explained.
Nightstalkres, my story and music and stuff..... enough saying
