Chronicles of Bayne: Book 1, Chapter 2

Stuart Gray

Rough draft.  please tell mew what you like, what could use some work.  We get into the Bayne's curse here, when the group catches up with their bounty.(Ranton is a fictional town, and any actual existence of a town by that name in Mississippi is purely coincidental)

MoTS -- 3

Laura Weber

In an ancient land where magic is commonface, two indebted brothers, a nobleman's son, a talentless priestess, and a mysterious shaman are bound together by a desire to change the past -- and, in that, a journey that defines fate and the strange origins of their world as they know it. Part three, first draft, yada-yada. Can you all tell that I updated this thing in the wee early hours of the morning?

The Meeting

Jonathon Cain

This is my first published work on Elfwood. Hope you guys like! ;D

Coyote, the Stars, and the Moon

For a Herscher Project where we used the myths of the places we live to speculate on how a mythological creature might be living today. I worked with some Native American myths about the character Coyote, and wove them into this story. It's a mighty battle, it's a revenge story, it's about reclaiming the night, and it's a romance. I hope you enjoy it. Please let me know what you think!

MoTS: Prolouge

Laura Weber

In an ancient land where magic is commonface, two indebted brothers, a nobleman's son, a talentless priestess, and a mysterious shaman are bound together by a desire to change the past -- and, in that, a journey that defines fate and the strange origins of their world as they know it. And it's not all going to be done in a run-on sentence, really. *grins* In full, these stories are, for the time being, entitled 'Moss On Temple Stone.' Don't know quite what this is going to be... it may be sort of novella-ish, serial-ish, or simply a bunch of short stories that are linked together by characters and events... Nevertheless, this is the short introduction, prolouge-thingie...

In an ancient land where magic is commonface, two indebted brothers, a nobleman's son, a talentless priestess, and a mysterious shaman are bound together by a desire to change the past -- and, in that, a journey that defines fate and the strange origins of their world as they know it. 'Moss on Temple Stone' is kinda a classic fantasy-ish tale, and something I think I'm going to enjoy writing, at the very least. Heh. Complete (or rather, 'incomplete') with action, love, vengeance, mystery, magic, and... erm, well, walking around. Part One of a Potential Many.

Burning Wolf

Lauren Looper

A story of a mystical transformation of a beautiful women, and the creatures, and people that help her realize her true descent.

Chieftess

Carrie Miller

This is an original short story. It is not yet completed, and the part I am uploading ends just before the first mini-climax. I am going to list it as high fantasy, although the magic is loosely based on Native American beliefs and practices.

Part two of 'Moss on Temple Stone.' The walking around part of the action, love, vengeance, mystery, and magic issues. Heh. Just getting things moving along, in my slow way. Um... what else do I need to add? First draft, as most always, and comments if you've got 'em... heck, comments if you don't got 'em....

Chronicles of Bayne: Book 1, Chapter 1

Stuart Gray

Very rough draft.  First attempt of blending folklore and myth with a western style genre.

A Tale of Coyote

Michael Ullom

This is an older story I did back in the last year of high school. Despite the change in my writing over the years, I still enjoy this story.

The Magic Antler

Richard Clayton

A Native American hunter is gifted with a magical tool....

Weightless

Sue Kim

This is also based on an assignment with my creative writing group. My good friend Devon, who also headed the Magnetic Poetry assignment, played the song 'Weightless' by Mike Oldfield. We were to write what came to us while listening to the music. I saw pristine green fields and hills. At the top of the tallest, a beautiful Chinese girl in vibrant red silks and her beloved, a young Native American Indian brave were creating magic for each other's enjoyment. I hope to illustrate this some day.You should listen to the song, too. It's off of Tubular Bells 2.
