Traveler Chapter 4 - Desperation

Leonard Kim

The traveler joins a ragged band of survivors in an old manor, surrounded by humanoid cannibals.

A Fairy Tale of New York - Part 4

Sean Daily

My first story from my new roleplaying system! I call it Witchgun, and it's set in New York City in 1936, in an alternate timeline where vampire bats (called chiroptim) and humans have evolved side by side. It's partly a reaction to modern depictions of vampires, which are ultra-hip, ultra-stylish, ultra-powerful and ultra-amoral. Characters like that just stick in my craw. I wanted vampires that had real problems - family, jobs, paying the bills, raising the kids, enduring prejudice - and who weren't immortal and who weren't all powerful. This is the fight in the Benthic Hall. Ack! I can't stand the suspense!

Sebastian and Jacob are joined by two allies. One makes a big impression - in the Benthic Hall. The other leaves our heroes nonplussed.

Affyd, Chapter 3

Heather Heathen' Wright

And the third chapter. I particularly like the kabashka. ^^

Amara (restart)

Ian Saunier

The redo of the other story by the same name. COMPLETELY overhauled (and now with chapter 2!)

The Horde of The Spider God

David Southam

This is a sample of my planned third novel, The Dark Alliance, from my first fantasy saga. The Wrathstone Saga is to be the first of three trilogies, chronicling the recent history of my fantasy world, Lahn. The Wrathstone saga tells the story of a young man named Rick, an orphan from the quiet town of Povelstone, who, after finding an ancient evil artifact called the Chaos Medallion, finds himself pulled into a tale of wizards, dragons and all things nerdy. Rick finds out, much to his dismay, that he is in fact the 'Godgift', prophecised by the Gods themselves to become a mighty wizard called Al Caiatar, the Etherlord, the only one who can stop the coming of the God of Chaos, Nahgaroth, and of course, save the world of Lahn. In this excerpt, he and his loyal companions have found themselves under attack by a swarm of Enrath, akin to giant spiders, but altogether nastier. Enjoy! Note: The term 'Shimzera Muros! Shimzera Raiadar! Halla ken far indigar Al Caiatar!' does not have an exact meaning, and cannot be translated into modern speech. They are simply fictional 'words of power', used by wizards to invoke magic.

Chapter 1 - Untitled

Josh Schmille

This is the first chapter of a story I have been working on. This is just writing for fun, not trying to get published or anything like that. I just really want to know what people think of my writing.

Endaria Chapter 1: The Birth of Gabriel

Erin Ruiz

Wee, chapter one of the first journal entry I ever made as a senior in high school. This was an ongoing thing that was never finished in my Senior Journal. This is just a little intro to what will be a very strange but interesting story. WARNING: There will be a lot of shounen ai/yaoi stuff going on as the story progresses, so watch out!

Clar: Chapter 1

Brian Bergstrom

Ok, this story is based in the same world as Regonian Light, but at a different time. Somewhere in between the start of Rhikin's imprisonment and a couple years before Barbank's birth. I might have Mike in Regonian Light, I dunno. I still haven't decided what to do with him. Well, this is Mike's story. The original start of this crazy ongoing series I had in my head. This is the story it ORIGINALLY all began with. Before I even knew of Barbank or the Candle. Like back when I was 10. Of course I added some stuff. Enjoy. And feel free to comment. In this chapter the story hasnt really started yet, but it'll get better.

The title, of course, is from the Pogues song of the same name, which is of course from the J.P. Donleavy novel of the same name. This song was a favorite of one of my friends, and you'll see how appropriate it is as you read.

Matthias, Prologue

Heather Heathen' Wright

HAHAHAHA! ANOTHER PROLOGUE! I know, I know. I'm horrible. I should stop starting new stories and stick to one of two. But this is one of the my Pre-Wipe Works! I found it, by chance, on a disk buried in my room, and figured I'd upload it. Feel the angst!

Legacy of Camnor pt. 1

Tim Veselka

A young boy named Samis is taken from his happy home by a mysterious man in gray. I am getting ready to send this in to publishers so any helpful comments would be much appreciated.

Foul Weather Friends

This is another from the For Gettington project. (See Briar Ruotze.) I can't for the life of me remember what fairy tale I based this on or if I even did. I think I might have attempted one of those ancient European legends here, but I really can't remember. If I do, I'll share it. Anyway, it's the fantastic element (i.e. werewolf) in a modern setting a la Charles de Lint.

The World Needs More Farmers

Logan Pickup

This is a very short story, even for me, but the idea needed no more words than given to express itself.

More of the same...

Endaria Chapter 2: The Name of Gabriel

Erin Ruiz

Just when you thought this would be serious I go and through this at you. Enter Mandar the uke! Also, enter what could be known as 'the totally .hack rip-off,' save that it's not due to things that will happen in the next two chapters. And please pardon any bad grammar. These were done for English class as rough drafts and not finished products.

Prologue - 'Untitled'

Charles Willett

This is an unfinished prologue to the comic strip or anime video, still unsure of what I'm going to do with it and what the title is going to be and still in production of it. Most likely going to be a comic strip. It's about AI attempting to exterminate humans on Earth and the humans escape to the moon to rebuild civilization. Some of the humans get left behind and build underground civilizations based upon old magical beliefs, some humans are mutated by a virus released by the AI, some humans escape to the moon and rely on technological advances to survive all the while encountering new alien races.

Melancholia

Alycia J. Childs

Three poems written in a sort of mood during my high school days. The first is dedicated to my husband, though--Ro, my first, my only, and my best.
