The empire of Sovaresti Q'ilesta is torn apart by traitors and monsters.
This is a short excerpt of my first book. It is the initial chapter for the three main storylines of the tale, and follows their paths as they begin to set out on the adventure locked inside the pages of a story. I have completed the full text, all 22 chapters, and I am seeking to get this published. The story itself is a slight shift from the typical fantasy fare, as events are taking place in the relatively young planet, in just its second age. This is the time of great adventures and powers that set the stage for the legends and mythos of the ages that will come behind it. I do intend to write for this place all the way through the end of the planet so look forward to seeing this world grow and the pains it will endure on that path.
Chapter II of the so far titled 'Jacob's Story'. This one explores more into the mysterious Towers that dot the Seafolk's world. We learn more about Claudia and you can probably gain some suspicions about her character. Bwuahahaha, I'm writing more about her that might surprise you but maybe won't. She's my favorite character in this story really. Read on!
Another lesson from the Lionar before Ariel and Sundil face the Adverse.
When the ruling Triumverate of Alumire form an alliance with the leaders of the giant owls- known as the Council of Feathers- a new form of warfare unit is born: the airborne combat team. Of course, being at the front line of this new development as a student of the Towers of Midnight Song, Ariel and the Banshees are asked to compose a manual about their experiences with this new development. This is Ariel's entry on Interspecies Communication.
The first chapter edit for the new version (I think its about version twelve of the story or version three of the New Version which is a bit of a radical change from the Old Version - The Road to Ennion is based on the Old Version and my note there expalins a little about the change in the story). Its different from what was here before because I'm keeping Rhonwyn's entrance back a little as I've decided it would be more like her to turn up when she choses rather than because they call her (Rhonwyn is the central character of the story but if you don't know who she is don't worry too much, all will be explained when I publish the next couple of chapters). This is mostly Haydain because he deserved a proper introduction, he's my current favourite Citadel character and he really shapes the plot in the first part of the story so it helps to understand more about him and his ideas at the start. Please leave a comment, go on :-) If you want to discuss this chapter with me or ask a question about it then post a message in this journal entry.
The fifth chapter of my book Forever Shadow. Please enjoy and leave some comments. Check out my SF&F page for some illustrations. Leave lot's of constructive criticism please.
Can Ariel and the Lionar resolve their differences? ~~~~~~~ A big thank you to everyone who has taken this journey with me over the last five years. Your feedback as been priceless in developing my skills as a writer. I can only hope this ending does justice to all your time and effort.
This is my new edit of the Prologue, it's not changed much! I've included a little more information in my author's note to update it with some of my new work on the Dragonian langauge. You don't have to read it, the prologue itself follows after the big titiles (which should be viewed in a font called 'dauphin' like all the Citadel chapter headings)! If you would like to discuss the Prologue or the preamble with me you can post a question or comment in this journal entry. If you want to discuss the whole of the story or make a general point then post here.
This is the first chapter of one of my new novels The Spire. It's unrevised, and may contain typos, spellos and other such mistakes, if you see one I'd be happy if you point it out as it most likely escaped my nearly blind eyes.Hope you enjoy!
And I know I may end up failing too But I know You were just like me With someone disappointed in you --from 'Numb' by Linkin Park Ariel has a chat with Celil-Gandil and muses on her future. This chapter seems very dense and I'm not sure I'm entirely happy with it, but since it's the second last chapter, I guess there's a lot to deal with. As usual, feedback is always very welcome.
I woke up one morning and found I had readers. These readers got angry with me while they waited for the next chapter. Finally it came down to a simple decision... write the next chapter or create a new identity to hide from the lynch mob outside. So here it is. It is a touch shorter than the previous chapters, but we are wrapping up Part One here. Having survived her master's test, Ariel finally discovers what he has deemed her worthy of.
Yes, we've made double figures. Part Three begins. Ariel recovers from her previous ordeal, the Lionar's 'lessons' start to become more erratic, and Sundil learns a lesson of his own.
Chapter one of my unfinished story (so creatively titled 'Jacob's Story'). I plan on eventually changing the title once this story is finished or closer to completion. Constructive comments welcome. Thank you :)
Chapter III of Jacob's story takes Claudia and Jacob outside of Sea's Bluff and the Green Tower (finally! lol) I'm actually not much of a fan of this chapter but it's necessary in order for Chapter IV to make sense.
In these hard times, a single elf holds the fate of the realm in her hands.
Who's the mysterious person Ariel and her friends have found lurking in the forest?~*~ After a very long wait, it is finally here. This has an interum dedication to Becca Lusher while I write her real story. I could never thank her enough for her friendship, patience and support.
Ariel must face her unknown attacker. This chapter is especially for the Countess, who challenged me to write it in record time. It's also for Sahaquiel, the elf behind the mask, if you will. This is just as much his story as mine. Update 9th April, 2007 -- Thank you to everyone for the feedback. I think I've fixed most of the errors except for the infodump. That may have to be dealt with by writing a new section and I wanted to finish the story first.
