The name actually means 'mooncat' in K'ierlani (The language spoken by the K'ierlani elves of Tyrella.) Ashe's beloved ruwangamyoo is seen here, sleeping on her bed-nest in the young woman's home high up in the trees of the Elvish capital city, Alishaya Kochue. Ruwangamyoo are nearly transparent. Only a softly pulsing colored glow is visible where the mooncat's heart is, the rest of the animal appearing to be made of the purest crystal. The color of the crystal varies from transparent to faintly white or pale blue-tinged, while the color of the pulsing heart-glow ranges from pinkish-red through amber, yellow, pale green, white and blue and violet, with blue and violet being the rarest. The K'ierlani say that this is the ruwangamyoo's soul. Ruwangamyoo are very rare and very precious, for it is they who choose the elf who will be theirs for life. The K'ierlani say that to touch a ruwangamyoo is to touch love. Ruwangamyoo are hairless and do not eat meat. They seem to prefer milk, cream, pure water or honey. Many K'ierlani feel that they subsist on the love and spirit of their chosen companions. This is one of very few colored illustrations that I have done. I like it a lot (especially the cat), though I think the view outside the windows could have been better.
