She was a person of...rank. Class. Position. She knew who to know, and who should not be associated. Then her eccentric older sister, Eleanor, had to go and die in a carriage accident. Her shy husband (who was a jeweler and was rarely ever seen by the people of class) died as well, trying to save her from the runaway horse that ended up dashing them to pieces. He was so strong though...most people say he died more of a broken heart than any mortal injury. Why did SHE have to be the next of kin? She never married, and everyone would talk if they saw her with a child in tow. What a hindrance to attracting suitors! And such an odd child, too! Why did she have to turn out like her eccentric mother, all carefree and overly jovial? She had tried to keep the little girl a secret, but she begged and pleaded so to be let outside. And of course, being a lady and not inclined to raise her voice in discipline, she complied with the child. What the aunt didn't know was that the girl's father was a fullblooded high elf...which made the girl just a halfbreed, but had not only her mother's spirit and looks, but her father's talents with all natural things. Drawn with Lyra Rembrandt colored pencils, then twieked slightly in Photoshop. Inspired slightly by the My Fair Lady movie, starring Audrey Hepburn. Summer of 2005.
