You know how Haans Christian Anderson (sp?) wrote The Little Mermaid and now there's like a million different versions? There's Disney's verison where she becomes human and the bad lady dies and everyone lives happily ever after. Then there's a few others, like in one, her sisters cut off their hair and seel it to the witch in exchange for a dagger; the mermaid must kill her love in order for her to become a mermaid again. She almost does, but can't and then ends up kissing him instead, and hurls herself into the sea and becomes seafoam. Well, this is her right before she turns to seafoam. She's sitting on a rock in the middle of a bay, pondering her decision...hoping it was the right one. Chalk pastel on black paper. **UPDATE!** Much more contrast and feeling; not so washed out anymore!
