This young blue dragon had lost a lot from his life. His mother died of starvation during the past winter when she had refused to leave her child to go hunting with her mate. His father died after his mother, while protecting him from a pair of hunting gryphons who had thought they had found an easy meal when they saw the small blue dragon practicing flying. After their deaths he manedged to find enough food, from what his parents taught him, but just barly. When life seemed to be at its lowest the for the dragon pup, he found a friend, a butterfly who had lost its way. And soon after the dragon and butterfly became inseprible. I was going to call his pic "Dragon sniffing butterfly" but changed my mind, I like "Friends" better. I gessing butterflys arn't smart enough that they can tell one dragon from the other or feel friendship and compassion... I wrote the short story right on the spot, and there are a lot of flaws (in the story and in the drawing) but I like it. The dragon just looks sad to me like something devistating happened to him and he is trying to get on with life. -- I'm not really sure how long it took me to draw it , I think 15-20 mins and colouring it took about 1/2 an hour- hour. Pencil and coloured pencils.
