For fun I hosted a party where my friends and I made shirts that said, 'I'd rather be in...(insert LOTR place name here).' I actually don't like T-shirts (they annoy my neck) so I made a tote-bag instead. I started by drawing a design. Once I had that, I coppied it and used a special spiky wheel to puncture holes in the lines. I then taped the design onto the purse and went over the punctured lines with a black fabric marker. When I took the paper away the drawing had been transferred onto the purse and I could begin to paint it using fabrick markers and clothing paint. The fabric leaves (in the top left corner) were sewed on individually by hand, and later I went over the leaf veins with more fabric paint. The fringe on the top took absolutely forever to put on! I am somewhat inept with a sewing machine. I bought the basic purse from Michaels. There is a close up of this in my gallery, as well.
