The Vamp

Date: January 2008 Medium: pencil, felt-pen and Photoshop The Vamp, a true femme fatale. Rather intriguing new style I discovered I could turn my quick sketches into. First I copied the sketch, give the picture contrast with a black and grey felt-pen and then I scanned it, and smoothed the grey areas. I like this picture very much, the eye, the nose, the hat. The ‘brightness’ of the picture although I didn’t used my usually flashy colours. And no, the grey isn’t a shadow, because if it was it would be placed all wrong. It’s just an artfully creative method to bring some depth. Everybody who saw her would want to wipe out the sad look in her eyes, till she shown her teeth. Even then, the men couldn’t resist touching her. Living in the romantic city that was called Paris, she had no trouble to find prey. Humans considered her as mysterious as the Mona Lisa, she considered herself effective.
