The Ballad of an It

The oddest picture I have ever drawn. There is a poem about the creature I sort-of wrote...I mean, I wrote it, but i wasn't thinking about it at the time. At any rate, it took about 1/2 hour to draw, and was drawn with black ink. the text is the 1st verse to a poem i wrote a while ago...here's the whole poem: 'It hatched late one Friday night, And for a time everything seemed alright. It was Father who was always last to fright. “Is it safe?” said he, “Well, not quite. If you come to close, it may bite, And it hides in the tub—it’s afraid of the light! But all in all, I think it’s alright.” He disappeared the next day— He was never too bright. It lay in the tub, between the cracks Emerging yonder only behind out backs It was poor Jeep who first went missing His skull we later found it kissing, And in its lair, full of pus It had a doll for each of us Each doll was made with stitched Jeep’s skins And every last one was stuck full of pins Upon this day, we reached the brink: It may not like us, we did think. Up at us, its huge eyes did blink And Jeep’s rotten flesh began to stink. For a moment, we were sad, And we wanted Jeep back But the moment was short-lived. We disposed of his remains in a plastic trash sack After that, we simply let It be After all, it was could not be stopped At least not by me, So the bathroom door was locked So none could go inside; And if any minds had to be satisfied, We unlocked the door and watched their eyebrows rise As they stepped inside to meet their demise.' This is one of my first ballads...i wrote it over a year ago...i personally think it's very weak in rhyme and rhythm, and doesn't make much sense...but it IS in a bit of background song for my Adzel series. I was going to make the Adzelian version of the Lord's Prayer...though first I have to design national religions...and the background of them...and...ya, you get the idea.

Adzel Chapter VI

In Which Some Character History Is Revealed, And Another Character Is Introduced And Yet Another Comes Back Into Play...

Adzel Chapter IV

I have, at long last, finished Chapter IV! In this chapter, the story line begins to become more intriguing, and the new character is fleshed out just a bit. Actually, it's in these next few chapters the plot really starts to unfold...I tried to avoid the classic 'LOTR-clone' cliche plot seen in the Shanarra and Sabriel series...but you can't really tell this early on. Enjoy! If you find it to your liking, that is.
