I doodle quite a lot, especially when I should be doing something else. One day, while contemplating an illustration (a portrait of a Finnish tango singer) for a newspaper, I drew this fellow. I liked how freakish it ended up, so I decided to scan, clean and colour it. The mythical cockatrice, in case you are interested, is said to be a deadly creature born from the leathery egg laid by an old rooster, hatched by a snake or a toad. The cockatrice appears as a rooster-wyvern hybrid and has the looks that could kill. Literally. It is often equated with the basilisk.
