A Faceless God

Sci fi/Fantasy image by

This painting was inspired by the horror writer of the 1920's, Robert Bloch. Who in turn was inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. This particular painting was my interpretation of one of Bloch's short stories. (The title to which escapes me now.) Bloch is best known as the author of Psycho. The story depicted Nyarlathotep as a black statue in the Egyptian desert in which an entire expedition met their death trying to recover it.
