I made this.... er, I think sometime when in college. I kept seeing little pewter dragon oil lamps in catalogs. Trouble is, I didn't want to spend $50 on an oil lamp. Also, the dragons I saw were rotund and cute, not really my idea of a dragon at all. This is made from some now-unidentified air drying clay (maybe Das, which is what leads me to think college rather than high school). It's built around an oil candle shaped like a taper candle. The reason I didn't use polymer clay is that I was worried that I couldn't bake the glass oil candle, a worry that I think was probably groundless as I now know people colver glass objects with polyclay routinely. He's painted with gold acylic paint.
