In the darkened room a presence is felt, no steps have been heard or sound been made to alert you someone else has entered but you can feel it. A candle burns on the edge of a desk, a small pool of light cast in that corner leaving the rest of the room in darkness. The rumours of a ghost have been flying around and slowly the presence grows and strengthens. A hint of movement, a dark shadow against an even darker background and then a face appears in the light of the candle, the face of a monster. Here he is, Erik as he was meant to be in my eyes, with the exception of one thing. I really cannot draw decaying flesh. This is how I imagined him when I read the novels by Leroux and Kay, without his mask. If you look very closely you might be able to see that I tried to include the veins at the top of the head, unfortunately it lost some during the scanning process.
