The nymph had seen the glowing orb from a distance and had gone to investigate. Now as she floated in front of it, the orb began to pulse. Slowly at first, then going faster and faster. The light cast random shadows over her body. Finally, curiosity got the better of the water spirit and she moved forward to touch it. The tip of her nose barely pressed against its' surface before the orb gave off one last pulse, brighter than any others. Nothing could be seen of the nymph in that blinding flash. After the light died away, only the dark water of the lake and a small, innocent, glowing orb was left.
