Rusalka is how water nymphs are called in Slavic mythology. According to legend, they are spirits of young women that drowned. Much like sirens, they are keen on seducing young men with their singing and dancing...and then drowning them. Not all rusalkas are malevolent, and neither is this one. She's just reaching out, that's all...:) This drawing dates from 1991.
