The title of this picture comes, of course, from Wicked, named after Elphaba's spell book. Name, bubbles, and pointy hat I blame entirely on my friend, Marissa, and her obsession with Wicked (and just ignore the fact that she got me a tad obsessed as well ;-) ). (I have sinced learned that Wicked does not use the 'proper' spelling of Grimmoire, and instead uses something along the lines of "Grimmerie", but I prefer Grimmoire). The writing on the book bindings and in the spell book are Hebrew. I had Marissa write down some words for me, which I then placed randomly in the book. I can't give a line-by-line list of what the words mean, since they were very randomly put in there, and as a result several words are cut off and I don't think even Marissa could translate it line for line now, but the words contained in the spell book and on the book bindings are:-Friend-Marissa (actually, I believe she put down her Hebrew name, which is Miriam)-Cassie-Sufganyot (I may have that spelled incorrectly, and Marissa wasn't sure she spelled the Hebrew correctly. *Basically* it is a type of donut =) -Ice Cream-Camel-The Hebrew symbol for life, ChaMechanical Pencil (0.5mm lead, HB) on Bristol Board, and my Blending Stumps.
