This is another picture of my Deadlands character, Angel. I did this one because I felt like a picture showing Angel about to kick some serious ass. Here, she's prepping to sling a hex at some poor sap who somehow got on her bad side. I also wanted a chance to show a little bit of Angel's changing mindframe, after finding out about her own death and discovering the truth about the dark power within her. The demon skull behind her serves as a symbol of that dark power, still there through everything, always hanging over her shoulder. But Angel has changed out of her usual outfit (which, though it wasn't exactly whore's clothes, would hertofore be known as her whore outfit) and into a more traditional (if simple) costume of the Sioux. This outfit was actually made for her by James, her lover, before the two of them split off from the party to enter Sioux lands and find Angel's ailing sister. The clothing and the medicine bag would become permanent as Angel realized her desire to identify with her mother's world and people more than the world of her father, which had only led to disappointment and death. Another of my "lyrics" paintings, this one includes lyrics from a song by Nightwish, titled "Gethsemane". I take no credit for the lyrics myself, only thought them perfect to compliment Angel's look and state of mind for this picture. Other than the ones taking the place of obvious letters, arcane runes in this picture are simply imputted for detail and have no other meaning. The exception is the "J"-type symbol on the skull, which has become my symbol for Black Joker.
