This is another picture of Angel, my deadlands character, this time with another member of the Deadlands party, James "Black Cougar", a Sioux tracker. James and Angel hooked up predictably as a randy indian and a whore looking for someone to help keep her safe, but as time went on they began to genuinely care for each other. For a long time Angel wasn't sure if James really returned her feelings or was just content to have a woman in the party to satisfy his carnal needs, but she also didn't care. It was simply nice to have someone who cared for her at all, so she decided to enjoy it while she could. James proved his feelings, though, when Angel finally discovered the truth about herself--that she had died, and returned to life as a manitou's puppet. Though they both knew Angel could at any time lose control to the manitou and hurt those closest to her with the arcane arts she'd learned, James remained by her side and promised to help her. In this picture, the arcane symbols actually do mean something: the lyrics printed in the background of the picture come from a Biff Naked song called "We Are The Lucky Ones" (after which this peice is titled), and as usual some symbols stand in for the letters. The symbols at the bottom of James and Angel's cloak, however, actually spell out the song title itself. Lastly, the black tattoo on Angel's hip is the symbol I've come to use as the sign for Black Joker, the sign of doom and the reminder of the demon inside of her.
