Bronagh is a Celtic name, meaning 'sorrow.' (That is, according to a website I got the name from...I wouldn't know, so I'll take their word.) She is a character from a story that I started and never finished, which I usually do with stories. In a past life, she was a truly wicked person, so wicked that the gods destroyed her body, and imprisoned her soul. She was reborn as an Elf, and given the magic of the healing arts, only her soul was never put into her new body. It must guide the actions of this new Elvin body from its remote location in the heavens, in order to redeem itself for its past wrongs. The specific goals of Bronagh’s life are to learn love and compassion, and to help and heal wherever she can. But love, as an emotion of the soul, is something she finds impossible, for Bronagh exists separately in the physical and spiritual. As such, she is filled with a terrible emptiness which she finds almost unbearable, as she continues her life.
