I am going to state this right now. This is a Christian painting. I am Methodist and this is for my youth directors lesson this fall. This was a piece I was asked to do for my youth director. He wanted to do a sermon over unmasking yourself. Never again will I do a picture of this magnitude. there are 18 people in this picture. 15 of these are individually masked. The masked are (from left to right) a rabbit, a snake, a chameleon, an armadillo, a peacock, a deer, a tiger, a raven, a ram, a monkey, a pheonix (the man bending over picking up the black unicorn mask), a lion, a rooster, a coyote, and a sheep. They all have there own meaning, some I gathered form diffrent religions, some from fables, some I merely made up knowning the animals personalities. The outfits range from 1600 france to indian princes, to 2005 victoria's secret based cloths and american eagle. I couold go into indepth detail, but I asure you I would bore you to tears. The most important thing to relize it that the woman in the middle is unmasked. She is danceing witha silver figure (God or the holy spirit. ) The woman and men are mocking her, whisering about her, but she doesn't care because she is with her lord. acrylic. Its big, I can't remeber the sixe though, Its around 45 by 25 or 30 or something. about 400 hours went into this.
