Berlam, city of stone

Sci fi/Fantasy image by

This is absoloutely the best picture I have done of Berlam, though it remains unfinished. This Enourmous, underground cavern, always being enlarged by the subterranian ocean seen here, took millions, perhaps billions of years to form. You can see Rika standing at her balcony, looking out over the city. When civilization first tried to inhabit this realm, Buildings were carved into the entirety of the rock pillars. When, several hundred years later, parts of the cave began falling in, they realized that it wasn't a good idea to depend on the integrity of hollowed out stone. The caved in region collected water and began to form a long, winding vally of stone over a very long period of time. It is now known as Berlaminia, city of a cave without a roof. Engineers have figured out how to make these places safe to live in, and Berlaminia is now the most densly populated region on the planet. Berlam is quite a place as well, though the absence of sunlight makes it uncomfortable to live in for extended periods of time.
