Metal Angel

Please, let this title not deceive you. I started the picture as an illustration to the poem: 'The iron bell' Your've built your glass castle on ice, Your skin is now the colour of bice - My fallen guardian, Hear now the iron bell call In a cage of plastic down you fall! The wires around you will once drag you down, Your steel wings'll carry you out of glass town! My metal angel, Hear now the iron bell call, In a cage of plastic down you fall! Trapped in a tower made up of lost dreams, Your blood upon ice flows as crimson streams - My dying warrior, Hear now the iron bell call, In a cage of plastic down you fall! Now fly Before you die! But as I went further with the sketch, I changed the initial idea and a completely new vision appeared in my mind. It took me the whole weekend to finish it. ;) And so it is. I decided to include the poem here anyway. Watercolour on 30x40 cm paper format. 2005.
