I found myself becoming annoyed with this phrase earlier, so I drew this. In the past a child born outside of wedlock was seen as "damaged goods", and the very word that was used for it became a swear word. Nowadays we refer to a child born out of wedlock as a "love child", as if children born within wedlock were born of mere duty or convention. Every child is loved. This is not a platitude. Your parents may not love you - some don't. It is rare, but it happens. Regardless of that, every child is loved, even if you have long since grown out of being small and cute - or if you never were. You are loved. Ballpoint pen on computer paper.
