The face peering from the depths of this Silver Maple polymer clay imprinted leaf has a mystic quality to it, almost edgy. The 3" x 3" maple leaf is an imprint of a leaf from my yard which has the hand painted face of a tree nymph peering out from within. The leaf is done with Kato translucent clay and is reversible, silver and translucent cane design. The face has been painted using watercolors and accented with mica powders. The leaf's vibrant colors are the result of using alcohol inks on the surface. The entire piece has been antiqued to give the appearance of depth and sealed to protect the artwork. The hand made hammered copper bail hanger is done in a spiral design and the leather cord is extra long and can be tied. This unique necklace is reversible and can be worn with the face showing or just the simplistic beauty of the leaf itself. Can be fun to switch it up in social situations too and keep people wondering if they saw a face...or not!
