Eternal Flame

This is a dark figure that turned up in one of my drawing sessions. I've taken someone's sugguestion and added a poem I wrote to the discription of this picture. Eyes of a stranger, visiting slumber Pierce through darkness, pull me under Pin me down, by an iris of woe Stripping me, tearing at my soul Outstretched hand, nothing to grasp Reality’s slipping, becoming the past Search for the ground, search for the sky Search for removal of doubt that you’ll die Heavy breath, lurking in obsidian Kneel and pray, long to awake again But don’t dare scream, it’ll come Using your fears, possessing all of them Curled smirk, icy gaze Skin pale blue, Mind’s lost maze ‘Hush now child, don’t be afraid I’ve come tonight, to take you away’ Misty fog from a breath of deceit You know better, don’t bother to see Meaningless words from a blackened heart Ask for strength to rip it apart Look for a sign, look for the light Only pain and suffering in your sight Dig through the wall, slip through the crack Because once you go, you never come back
