David and Ciel are, as can probably be gathered from their very long and pointy canines, vampires. David has already spent nine centuries as a blood-drinking undead, but he only made Ciel seven years ago, a period of time during which she has proven to be completely hostile toward anything and everything that David has tried to teach her about being a vampire. Basically, they have a love/hate relationship – Ciel abhors David, and David in turns loves tormenting her because it gives him something to do besides being bored with his immortal existence. That aside, he actually does like her, more or less, because of her perseverance and pride. Having covered the background story that I always include in my picture description, I’ll move on to add something about the drawing itself. The boarders are meant to be symbolic (and pretty, but I’m not too sure about how well that went), both with the black/white ribbons and the budding rose, and the fact that it makes me think of a wedding picture (I didn’t realize that it did so until after I had finished, and it might just be me who thinks so, but anyway…). For once, I tried sticking Ciel in a different outfit than the one she always wears, and what do you know, she actually looks good in it! (Now all I need to do is design some decent-looking guys’ clothes as well…) I still need to work on drawing hands, grrr!
