Type: Book illustration Book: The Saga of Eruûne (The Orchid in the Forest) Chapter: 5 - 'Meeting in the Ealdwood' Quote/Scene: 'He stood in the midst of millions of shining lights, dancing across the darkness as if they'd been sneezed out by the gods. With a flash they'd be there, twinkling and sparkling, and with another, they'd suddenly be gone, leaving the forest in complete emptiness. His dragon-eyes narrowed as he stepped across the path woven of vines and flowers, careful not to crush single bloom. Eruûne gasped; his pale, bony chest was no longer bare: like the rest of his body, it had been tattooed by the deities, showing his sins.' Medium: Drawn completely in PSP7 with my dying mouse, three layers (background, person, lights) Character: Columbine Rose Date: 12/26/03 Comments: His hair is still sort of funky around the top, but it looks better than it did about ten minutes ago when I was still working on it. I like how I highlighted his skin with yellow to have it reflecting the lights, and I like how the color in his hair turned out. I've had so many problems getting his 'salmon-and-gold' hair to look good in all the millions of pictures I've drawn of him (he's such a cool character!). His body is sort of stiff, but that's how I pictured the scene. this picture's point is to show his tattoos. I'm pretty sure that's what they look like. The 'K' is the Greek letter 'Kappa' (K), which stands for the Nyrach (Dragon of the Abyss) in the book, in case you've never read it and wondered. Oh, and porportions may be wierd beyond the purposeful deformations of my style because I didn't work from any sort of model. He's supposed to be thirteen, but he looks sorta ten and sorta... older-yet-deforemed. -.-;
