We were wrong. Dead wrong. The odd flicker of light in the morning sky was a warning. As the two planets grew closer the trees died. Then the grass. Sea level rose and then suddenly dropped. And then the oceans shrank to puddles. Vast areas of what used to be ocean floor turned into a slime and lichen carpet, foul smelling and repulsive. Soon the hot dry wind will scorch even the putrid puddles to dust. And then what? Then what?
