I drew this on the day of a mini marathon at about 5:30am while I was waiting for the other cooking staff to show up and help me set up the breakfast stand. That's what I get for showing up half an hour early. It started off as some mindless scribble and gradually evolved into what I decided was a dragon head. After half an hour I was completing the neck. I finished off the rest during boring TAFE classes about business practices. This is the first dragon picture which I didn't spend hours drawing scales so fine that they're barely noticeable. The ultrafine details that can only be noticed by the very observant are generally taken for granted and don't contribute enough to the overall image to justify the extra work. For this reason this dragon took me only 4 hours instead of 4 days. I am pleased with the way the sky turned out, I used a tissue to get the light smudged effect. The muscle on the neck and wings works for me and I think the cow adds a nice touch of humour. I can't shake the feeling that there's something 'not right' about the arms and legs though.
