As the title suggests, this was a self-portrait-like assignment I did for art class some time ago. Basically, I had to create a nice, clashy picture depicting some part of me in a quite 'busy' setting. It was supposed to show what was in our minds most of the time and relate that to what we decided to draw. That's me on the right side, there's a jaguar over on the left, and in the middle is a mysterious female figure who is going to make a huge impact sometime in my life. The color rainbow across the top signifies current turmoil, going from warm, light colors near the jaguar to progressively dark colors over me, and it could also relate to our current understanding of what's eventually going to happen. The clouds represent the lightness and darkness on every side of things, the sun represents the reason for everything, and our poses represent our ignorance toward what's going to happen to the world. All in all, this was really fun to draw and color, and I really like how it came out. I used a whole bunch of different media for this, including: oil pastels (jaguar), charcoal sticks (me), pencil crayons (dark figure in middle / touch ups), acrylic paints (rainbow), these other wierd metal paint thingies (clouds), and a highlighter (glow around woman in middle). Also touched up a tiny tiny bit in photoshop and lightened. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it, as I put quite a bit of time into it.P.S, I got a 9/10 on this because my face turned out to be a little innaccurate from the picture I used for reference. I also had to take the picture with my new digital camera, since it wouldn't fit on the scanner.
