These two characters came up in my art class while I had not too much to do. Both were done using these new pens I picked up in Edmonton -- my town doesn't have an art store at ALL -- in a sort of manga-style lineart. It's that type where you outline the edges in a bold line and all the little details are done with a thinner pen. It's quite fun, and I believe I'm getting better at drawing characters! The cat came first as an attempt, and wasn't originally going to be 'furry', so that's why the legs aren't digitigrade. The colours are ok, but I think I drew the body very well. The face was a little more of a challenge than usual, so It may look a little wonky. The fox was my second attempt, and finished in only about 40 minutes. The face turned out really well, but the feet are a little disoriented and the torso seems a little wider than it should be... to me at least. There was a yellow highlight on him, but it was lost in the scanner, so the original is quite a bit better.I really like this style, and really like having convenient pens as well. It lets you make these really clean pictures right on paper in front of you instead of relying on photoshop all the time. There's no story behind these two, so make up whatever you like! Tell me what you think! Coloured with prismacolour pencil crayons.
