Tanza, Dawn Goddess

Sci fi/Fantasy image by

This is the Tanza, the Goddess who dances up the dawn. She's the illegitimate daughter of the Sun God and the Goddess of Moonlight-Reflected-off-the-Sea. Since the latter is a minor goddess, Tanza has mostly her father's qualities, but she has the moon in her eyes and can never enter the full light of her father. In daytime, she joins her favorite uncle, Sunlight-Reflected-off-the-Sea, and as he flies over the water, she flies under it, shielded by him, and gives to the sea the glints of light that live within it instead of on the surface. This is my first work done almost entirely in photoshop, so any criticism (on technique OR content, including anatomy) would be welcome. I'm about as satisfied with this as I think I'm going to get, at least for the moment. All the characters specifically mentioned are (c) to me.
