D is for Dragon

Sci fi/Fantasy image by

August 29, 2005 Acrylic paints, Flair pen, and liquid leaf on parchment. A snarly dragon bites the base of the initial, as two other dragons are woven into the actual structure of the letter. The initial 'D' is done in a style that was popular in illumated documents, particularly religious texts, in England's 12th century. I had it in my mind to draw a cover for a book when I designed this, though I've yet to write or find a book on Dragons to go with it. This picture is now available on clothing, posters, mugs, mouse pads, and other great items at my online store. I hope you'll check it out!
