The city was nothing but a blur to Ilsabeta; the lights and moving vehicles speeding by in a way that made them barely visiable, all the noises, the voices of passing people and the churning of hundreds of machines turning their rusted bolts and pounding their drying pistons, reaching her pointed ears in a dull and mind-numbing buzz. All this...prefabricated chaos, all this man-made madness. It had to go. Where was the quiet sound of trees reaching for the light of the sunstar? The light whisper of the creatures asleep in the grass? Those pleasantries of nature were all hidden, suffocated, and finally murdered by the stealth and tainted blade of cruel technology.
