Born of the condemned partnership between the Alchemists of Kulimar, Diami, and Sukieria, and the Shamans of the North, these beasts are truly a sight to behold. Forged of iron impregnated with a melded soul, the rare black lirons of the Kulimari kings were seen as the epitome of strength., prestige, and pride. Little did the masses know, these magnificent beasts came at a price so heinous, so unspeakable, the world shutters at the very thought. Driven mad with the desire to do something great, to be remembered, to delve into the forbidden knowledge that lay just beyond the grasp of man, the alchemist Varan Lucretius severed the soul of his bond mate in two and embedded into the iron body forged in secret. Desiring perfection, he enlisted the expertise of others like him, and together, they played God and created the beasts. After this terrible truth was discovered, the blasphemers were banished and stripped of their gifts and many of the lirons destroyed. Legend has it some still roam the black sands of Kulimar, wild, and untamed. Did this as a quick doodle to flesh out an idea for a series of stories a friend and I were working on a while ago. Done in ms paint. With any luck the story will end up somewhat completed ans I will get better at computer colouring. The words on the bottom of the picture are the scientific name for this particular species of metal lion. It is intended to mean something along the lines of " Iron Lion"
