The wings of the dragon are made of fall leaves, not feathers, and they are sluffing off just as the trees are shedding their leaves. I don’t know if he, unlike the trees, dies in autumn; you can interpret his face and posture as you like. I prefer to think he is going to hibernate, but will miss the free skies of the summer. Used most of the year in my weekly art class open-canvas place. The trees were fun, but that was all with my teacher’s help- I was awful to start out with! >,< tried to make a glade-feel and draw attention to the dragon dude with the dark ring of trees and foliage to the outsides of the picture. Hope you like. Prismas and chalk, 14 x 17 inches.
