Firebird Easter Egg

This was done just before Easter when we did egg dyeing. Yes it's an actual chicken egg! It's done in the Ukranian style with the wax pens, I'm not sure if the technique or the eggs themselves are called pysanky. This egg shows the firebird, a character from a ballet who can transform from a magical bird into a beautiful woman, in her golden apple (or in this case, orange) tree. The back is just kind of a random design that didn't turn out as well as I hoped.
