This is the same guy featured in 'Sitting Dragon,' but he decided to climb instead of sit. Actually, my old roommate's brother saw the sitting dragon, and requested a climbing version to consider having tatooed on his back. This is actually just a small portion of it. It was done so that the wings take up the shoulder blades, and the tail run back and forth down the spine. I don't have a full shot of it, because I have very limited picture editing software on this computer. Once I can piece the whole thing together in Photoshop on my Mac I'll show everyone the whole thing. I'm not sure if you can really tell from the scan, but the entire body is covered in scales. I used the tip of my mechanical pencil (without lead exposed) to press into the paper, 'drawing' the scales in place before shading. That way, when shading, the depressed lines for the scales don't pick up any graphite. It's a rather efficient way to cover a large area with small scales and have a very decent texture created. It even looks good up close on the original.
